Welcome to the Aspiring Creative Industries Professional programme at Wirral Met. This programme has been designed to give you the skills and knowledge to start your journey towards your dream career in the exciting Creative Media industries.

Alongside developing your technical abilities, the programme will help you to get work ready by building on your confidence and interpersonal skills. You will have the opportunity to try out a range of subject areas related to the Creative Media industries, allowing you to explore different career paths and discover your strengths before progressing onto a Level 2 qualification.

Course Details

The programme will help you to improve your Maths and English, develop technical skills, gain work experience and get involved in extra-curricular activities and tutorials. It has been designed to help you develop professionally and supports your progression.

Alongside subject specific knowledge you'll have the opportunity to improve your Maths, English and Digital skills — essential for helping you get a job in the future.

Entry Guidelines

This is a Study Programme for students aged 16-18 years.

If you are yet to gain any formal qualifications (e.g. GCSE's) you will be enrolled onto our Aspiring Professionals Programme which is perfect for progression to further study at level 2 or alternatively an apprenticeship route into employment.

Basic levels of literacy and numeracy are required for you to study at this level (grade 2 or below in English/Maths)

Evidence of some previous experience i.e sketchbooks, or learning an instrument.

Equipment Required

To learn effectively on this course, you will need to use certain items of equipment to undertake particular activities as part of your studies. This will incur additional costs.
Financial support may be available to assist you with additional costs incurred by this course.

Assessment Method
This course is assessed through a combination of written work, portfolios, practical assessments, work experience completion and project work.
Additional Information

This is a study programme for those aged between 16-18. 

If you have not achieved a grade 4/C or higher in English and Maths, you will work alongside your course to complete this.

An interview for all candidates will be arranged with a member of the teaching team where you will have an opportunity to discuss the course and your individual needs.

This study programme is free for students, who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, and students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
