1. Find a Course That’s Right for You
Start by exploring our website to see the full range of 16–18 courses and study programmes. Not sure which course is right for you? Check out our course pages for information on levels, entry requirements, and career pathways.
2. Visit an Open Event
Come along to one of our open events to explore our campuses, speak to tutors, and take part in demos. Open events are a great way to get a feel for college life and ask any questions about your chosen course.
3. Make an Application
You can make an application at an open event in our Application Hubs, where our friendly team will support you through the process.
If you need some time to think, you can also apply anytime online:
Search for a course, create an account, and complete the application form.
You can apply for up to four courses, so if you’re undecided, you can reserve places on multiple courses.
Tip: If you’re unsure what level to apply for, visit our What Level Will I Study At?
4. Receive a Conditional Offer
Once we’ve reviewed your application, we’ll send you a conditional via email.
Some courses may require additional steps before an offer is made, such as:
- Attending an audition
- Showing a portfolio of work
5. Course Discovery Day
After your GCSE exams, you’ll be invited to a Course Discovery Day with other students who will be joining your course. This event is a great opportunity to find out everything you need to know, from course details and required equipment or uniforms (if applicable) to the next steps you’ll need to take before starting. It’s also the perfect chance to meet your tutors and future classmates ahead of your official start in September!
6. Enrolment
We’ll send you clear instructions and details about enrolment well before your course starts in September. Once you’ve received your GCSE results, you can formally enrol on your course.
- Complete an online enrolment form which will be sent to your email- it only takes about 15 minutes.
- Drop in to enrol – we offer enrolment drop-in sessions from GCSE results day onwards.
- At enrolment, you’ll meet a representative from your course and find out the date and time of your first session.
7. Your First Day at College
Your college journey starts here! During your first week, known as Transition Week, you’ll get an introduction to your course, meet your tutors, and settle into college life. You’ll also have the chance to explore everything Wirral Met has to offer at our Freshers’ Fair. We’ll be on hand every step of the way to make sure you feel supported and get off to the best possible start.
