Weekly Bursary

You will be entitled to a weekly bursary of £33 per week if:

You are in care

You are a care
leaver

You receive
income support

You are in receipt
of DLA* and ESA**

* Disability Living Allowance (DLA)      ** Employment Support Allowance (ESA)

16-18 Learner Support Fund

You can apply for support from this fund if you are not receiving a weekly bursary and not enrolled on an apprenticeship programme. This is to support you with any additional on course costs such as equipment, trips, books etc. Speak to the Student Services team on 0151 551 7777 for more details. 19+ Learner Support Fund

19+ Learner Support Fund provides help from the college towards payment travel costs, childcare, residential fees or equipment required for your course (conditions apply). Speak to the Student Services team on 0151 551 7777 for more details.

Advanced Learner Loans

Advanced Learner Loans give students aged 19+ in further education, studying eligible level 3-6 courses, access to financial support for tuition costs from the Student Loans Company.

Before applying, you will need to check the course you are applying for is eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. You will receive a Learning and Funding Information letter from us when you are offered a place on the course.

Bursaries For Degree Programmes

Students studying on a full-time degree programme can access bursaries:

• Support Bursary - £500 per annum for students with a household income below £25,000.

• Access and Progression Bursary - £500 per annum for students with a household income between £25,001 and £42,600 and who have studied at Wirral Met College in the previous two years.
