If you want to gain employment in this exciting industry this course will provide you with basic skills in ladies hairdressing.
You will spend most of your week in our hairdressing salons working on models and clients and on completion you may be able to progress to Level 3 Hairdressing.

Course Details
The course will include the underpinning knowledge and skills to enable you to:
- Styling hair
- Cutting hair
- Colouring hair
- competitions
- reception
During the course you will be expected to attend National shows and exhibitions where you can see demonstrations by some of the countries leading Hairdressers. Once a year we hold a college show and you will be expected to participate.

Entry Guidelines
- You will need 4 GCSE's at Grade 3 or above. One of the 4 GCSE's to be Maths or English at Grade 3 (or Functional Skill level 1) to study at this level.
- If you have a beginner/Introductory qualification in the subject you want to study and a maths or English GCSE at Grade 3 (or Functional Skill level 1) you can study at this level.
- Entry requirements for Level 2 courses in some sectors may be more specific. If you're unsure whether you meet these requirements, don't worry — we can help you find a suitable course that aligns with your skills and experience.

- Employment prospects include working as a stylist in hairdressing salons in the UK and abroad.

Equipment Required
To learn effectively on this course, you will need to use certain items of equipment and uniform to undertake particular activities as part of your studies. These will be yours to keep and you will be able to use them for practice at home and in your future career. These items will incur additional costs and can be discussed with a member of the hairdressing and beauty team.

Assessments continue throughout the course.
Practical assessment tests are carried out and written assignments are completed. In addition there are VTCT Tests.
