structure, combining vocational units with personal and social development
(PSD), allowing centres to tailor delivery to meet a range of learner
needs.

Course Details
This qualification focuses on the development and care of children from birth to 5 years 11 months, with some units providing specific guidance on age ranges.
Key areas of study include:- Understanding human growth and development in early childhood
- Respecting and valuing children as individual
- Exploring children's play and leisure activities within the community
- Supporting confidence building through play
- Developing effective communication skills, including listening and talking with young children
The course provides a strong foundation in early years development, emphasising the importance of play, communication, and inclusive practice.

Entry Guidelines
You must be 19 or over on or before 31st August to study on this course.
You do not need formal qualifications for this course but will be considered on your individual skills and experience. You must be able to follow instructions, be willing to work independently, produce answers in a clear and understandable form and organise information clearly.
