Course Details
This course provides you with lots of experience and will equip you with the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours to progress to a T Level in Health. This will provide you with a firm foundation in the following important areas of health:
- Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
- Human growth and development
- Safeguarding and protection in health and social care
- Communication in health and social care
- Working in health and social care
You will also benefit from the development of your core skills in maths and English, alongside career-focussed tasks to prepare you to succeed.

Entry Guidelines
To study on this course, you will need:
4 GCSEs including English Language Grade 4 or above, Maths and Science Grade 3 or above and 1 further GCSE Grade 3 or above.
Applicants should be ready to complete a substantial work placement
If you haven't yet achieved a grade 4 in maths, you'll continue studying this subject. If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course. To discuss further, please contact the ESOL department on 0151 551 7144.

Timetable
You'll be based at our modern Twelve Quays Campus, close to the waterfront, for four days each week—taking part in your Early Years and Education studies alongside your GCSE Maths and English Language lessons. You'll also spend one day a week in a work placement relevant to your course, gaining valuable real-world experience as you build the skills and knowledge for your future.

Equipment Required
You will require access to a laptop, which can be provided by college if needed.
Your DBS check will need to meet setting requirements.
You will require a placement uniform which will be provided and you will need to travel to your work placement.

Assessment Methods
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by NCFE.
