The subject specific knowledge you will cover includes:

• Health and safety
• Planning
• Duties and roles
• Working as a team
• Employability skills 

• There are no formal entry qualifications required to study at this level.
• Basic levels of literacy and numeracy are expected.

Satisfactory DBS.

If you haven't yet achieved a grade 4 in English or maths, you'll continue studying these subjects — they are key skills that will support your success in learning, work and everyday life. This programme offers progression to the following courses: 

• Level 2 Health and Social Care — Preparing to work

You'll be based at our modern Twelve Quays Campus, close to the waterfront, for four days each week—taking part in your Early Years and Education studies alongside your GCSE Maths and English Language lessons. You'll also spend one day a week in a work placement relevant to your course, gaining valuable real-world experience as you build the skills and knowledge for your future.

To learn effectively on this course, you will need to use certain items of equipment to undertake particular activities as part of your studies. This will incur additional costs.

This course is assessed through a combination of written work and practical assessments, work experience completion and project work.
