The Makeup Professional Level 2 is a vocational qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed hair and make-up artist.

This qualification has been specifically designed to help you develop the knowledge and skills to prepare learners for employment as a occasion or media make-up artist.

  • Course Details

    This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a hair and make-up artist including:

    • Application of make-up
    • The art of photographic make-up
    • Client care
    • Art of dressing hair
    • Health and safety
  • Entry Guidelines

    • You will need 4 GCSE's at Grade 3 or above. One of the 4 GCSE's to be Maths or English Language at Grade 3 (or Functional Skill level 1) to study at this level.
    • If you have a beginner/Introductory qualification in the subject you want to study and a maths or English Language GCSE at Grade 3 (or Functional Skill level 1) you can study at this level.
    • Entry requirements for Level 2 courses in some sectors may be more specific. If you're unsure whether you meet these requirements, don't worry — we can help you find a suitable course that aligns with your skills and experience.

  • Where can I progress to?

    Upon completion of this course, you will have the skills to progress on to Level 3 courses, or employment.

    To learn effectively on this course, you will need to use certain items of equipment and uniform to undertake particular activities as part of your studies. These will be yours to keep and you will be able to use them for practice at home and in your future career. These items will incur additional costs and can be discussed with a member of the hairdressing and beauty team.
