If you are looking to train as a fully qualified electrician installing in commercial, industrial and domestic locations, this City & Guilds 8202-30 course could be for you. This is now one of the qualifications recognised to becoming an electrician.

Please note on completion of the course you will hold the status of Electrician's Mate.

  • Course Details

    The course covers the following subjects:-
    • Commercial - such as supermarkets, offices, warehouses, schools, shops, restaurants and hospitals.
    • Industrial - such as research/development parks, heavy manufacturing, buildings and factories.
    • Domestic - such as houses, flats, bungalows, renewable and solar PV.
    • Agricultural - farms.
    • Maintenance services and local authorities.
    • Media - Electricians required for the day to day running operations in television and radio.
    • Sporting venues - theatres, concert halls and stadium events.
  • Entry Guidelines

    • Level 3 courses are usually 1 year in length.
    • If you have a level 2 qualification in the subject you want to study and a maths GCSE at Grade 4 you can study at this level.
    • Entry requirements for Level 3 courses in some sectors may be more specific. If you're unsure whether you meet these requirements, don't worry — we can help you find a suitable course that aligns with your skills and experience.

  • Where can I progress to?

    Employment or advanced apprenticeship at level 3.

  • Timetable

    Learners study for 4 days per week, which incorporates work experience and tutorial.

    You will receive your individual timetable at the start of your course.

  • Equipment Required

    To learn effectively on your course you will need to use certain items of equipment and undertake particular activities as part of your studies. To further enhance your learning experience the following will be required:

    • Personal Protective Equipment - £40
    • Current Regulations Book - Details provided on enrolment
