This course is funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority's Adult Skills Fund.
This is a level 1 programme that will prepare you for re-engagement into
education. It will develop basic practical skills in preparation for progression
onto a level 2 course, recognised within the industry.
You'll dive into hands-on activities that build your plastering expertise,
learning the specialist techniques used by professionals in the trade. Alongside
this practical experience, you'll explore essential theory that highlights safe
working practices in the construction industry. You'll also gain a solid
understanding of the tools, materials, and methods used not only in plastering
but across a range of construction trades.
Basic health and safety in
plastering is essential to ensure a safe working environment for everyone on
site. This includes wearing the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) such
as hard hats, safety boots, gloves, and eye protection to prevent injuries.
Workers must be trained to handle tools and materials safely, use proper lifting
techniques, keep the work area clean and free from hazards. It's also important
to follow safe procedures when working at height and to be aware of the risks
posed by dust, noise, and manual handling. Understanding and following these
basic safety measures helps prevent accidents and promotes a responsible,
professional approach to plastering.
