Coming to an Open Event is your chance to discover Wirral Met for yourself. See our facilities and where you will be studying. Make your choice with confidence.
What to expect…
You will be welcomed by our team, who will sign you in if you’ve registered online and direct you to the department you’re interested in. You will be given a booklet with everything you need, and there will be plenty of staff wearing blue lanyards to help you around the building.
We have welcome presentations at our campuses (except Hamilton) starting at 5:45pm, which will give you a full overview of the college and what we offer.
Explore the facilities. Coming to an Open Event gives you the chance to see all the facilities we have to offer, including workshops, salons and studios designed to give you real-world experience.
Before you come…
It’s best to sign up online so you can receive updates and additional information.
Make sure you know which campus you are visiting. We have five campuses across Birkenhead and Bebington, each showcasing different subject areas. If you are unsure, check the guide below for a full list of courses at each campus.
Plan ahead. If you are visiting more than one campus, it’s best to be prepared and arrive early to give yourself enough time to explore. We are open from 5pm–7pm.
Know where to park. Many of our campuses don’t have visitor parking and can get busy. There is a range of on-street and pay-and-display parking near all our campuses.
What to bring…
You don’t need to bring anything, but if you have any questions, it may help to write them down in advance as it can be busy and there’s a lot to see.
Bringing someone along can also help, whether it’s a parent or guardian, or a friend. They can help you feel more at ease and confident when asking questions.
Who to speak to?
Our course tutors will be available to answer any questions about the courses, and there may be taster activities so you can get a feel for studying with us.
We also have teams available, including
- Apprenticeships,
- Student finance,
- Additional learning support,
- Pastoral coaches
- Careers advisers.
Will be there to help, answer your questions and support you in making the best decision for you.
(Apprenticeships and Student Finance are not available at The Oval. Apprenticeships, Careers Advice and the Application Hub are not available at Hamilton.)
We have Application Hubs at our campuses, where you can apply on the evening with support from our admissions team.
Which campus?
