This is a Level 2 course particularly designed to prepare you for study on a Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in the following:

  • Access to Psychology and Mental Health 
  • Access to Sociology and Criminology 
  • Access to Biochemical Science 
  • Access to Nursing
  • Course Details

    This 17 week course is part of an integrated programme, that is designed to equip you with the skills and qualification needed to progress onto an Access to Higher Education course. 

    Through this course, you will gain the background knowledge and understanding of a range of key subjects. With a focus on the Health & Social Care sector, this course can also be used to gain employment when completed.

    Modules include:

    • Human Growth and Development
    • Safeguarding and Protection
    • Mental Health and Wellbeing and Equality
    • Diversity and Rights 

    You will also have the opportunity to complete English and Maths at Level 2, which will also enable you to progress onto Access to Higher Education Level 3 programmes.

  • Entry Guidelines

    Applicants must be at least 19 years old when they commence study.

    Applicants may be considered on their individual skills and experience.

    You do not need formal qualifications for this course. However, you must be able to read and write clearly, interpret tasks, be willing to work independently, produce answers in a legible and understandable form and organise information clearly and coherently.

    Satisfactory interview and demonstrate your interest in this career pathway.

  • Timetable

    September 2025 to Jan 2026, as well as, Feb 2026 to June 2026.

    Lessons are three days per week between 9am and 3.30pm.
