This course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to provide professional gel nail treatments. Throughout the course, you will learn how to carry out effective client consultations, communicate professionally with clients, and analyse nails and surrounding skin to determine suitability for treatment.

The course also covers the importance of maintaining high standards of health, safety and hygiene throughout all treatments, alongside an understanding of the chemical processes involved in gel nail application. By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and practical skills needed to perform gel nail treatments safely and professionally.

    This is a adult 19+ only course, there are no formal entry requirements for this course but, entry requirements for Level 2 courses in some sectors may be more specific.

    Employment prospects include working as a nail technician or within a beauty salon in the UK and abroad.

    This course is delivered on Wednesday evenings, from 5:30pm to 9pm.

    This is continually assessed practically and theoretically throughout the course.

  • Can I study for free?

    You may be able to study for free if this course will help improve your employment prospects. You could be eligible if you are:

    • Employed and earning below:
      • £37,114 (if you live in the Liverpool City Region; Wirral, Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens or Halton)
      • £26,800 (if you live outside the Liverpool City Region)
    • Employed and receiving certain state benefits
    • Unemployed (with or without benefits)
    • Asylum seekers can access free courses up to Level 2 if the course supports long-term employment.
