This is a one year course and is an essential qualification for many students.
The course aims to expand the ability of students to constructively analyse and evaluative pieces of writing.
This course is FREE for you if you do not already have GCSE English at grade 4/C or above or you live in the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

Course Details
The course consists of:
Exam Paper 1: 19th Century Fiction (40% of your overall mark)
- Section A: Reading
- Section B: Imaginative writing
Exam Paper 2: 20th and 21st Century Non-Fiction (60% of your overall mark)
- Section A: Reading
- Section B: Transactional writing
In addition you are required to complete a Speaking and Listening assessment which includes:
- Communicating and adapting language
- Interacting and responding and creating and sustaining a role

Applicants must pass an initial assessment.
