The Level 2 Cybersecurity Award is an ideal introduction for anyone interested in understanding how cybercrime affects individuals and organisations. This course helps learners explore common cyber threats and the routine protective methods used to keep systems secure, including user access control and the core principles of vulnerability and penetration testing.

This single unit qualification is designed for learners to learn about cybercrime. They will understand routine protective methods used to maintain cybersecurity including the principles of vulnerability and penetration testing and user access control.

  • Course Details

    Learners will investigate the accidental and malicious security threats that exist to IT systems and data. They will learn about system vulnerabilities and the tools and techniques used to protect users from risks and potential damage, including loss of data, loss of data integrity and unauthorised access to data.

  • Entry Guidelines

    You must be 19 or over on or before 31st August to study on this course.

    Applicants may be considered on their individual skills and experience.

    You do not need formal qualifications for this course. However, you must be able to read and write clearly, interpret tasks, be willing to work independently, produce answers in a legible and understandable form and organise information clearly and coherently.

  • Where can I progress to?

    Upon completing this course, learners can study Networking and Cybersecurity Level 3.

  • Timetable

    This course takes place on Mondays, from 2pm to 5pm.
