  • Course Details

The Level 2 qualification in Team Leading is structured to support three different qualifications, aiming to cater to the aspirations and career requirements of the student:

    • Diploma: 1 academic year to complete 7 modules.
    • Certificate: 16 weeks to complete 4 modules.
    • Award: 6 weeks to complete 1 module.

The length of the qualifications can be discussed. We also encourage employers to be actively involved in the planning and delivery of courses, so they meet your business needs. The qualification will be delivered as a hybrid model, meaning that students will attend a mixture of online and in-person sessions at regular intervals.

Students are expected to complete weekly set activities and assessment work independently, however, they will be allocated a tutor to provide support throughout the duration of the course.

Students will develop a range of skills, including effective team leading, improving problem solving skills, effective decision making and a wider understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a team leader.

Areas covered by the qualification include:

    • Being a team leader
    • Providing customer service
    • Monitoring team performance
    • Building work relationships
    • Developing team needs
  • Entry Guidelines

This is to be discussed with the employer, but generally you will need 4 GCSE's at Grade 3 or above or a beginner/introductory qualification. One of the 4 GCSE's should be Maths or English at Grade 3 (or Functional Skill level 1) to study at this level.

If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course. To discuss further, please contact the ESOL department on 0151 551 7144.

  • Where can I progress to?

Students have the opportunity to study further modules to allow them to complete the full diploma. Students will progress onto job roles such as:

    • Team Leader
    • Supervisor
    • Floor Leader
    • Team Coordinator
