You will have the opportunity to try out a range of subject areas related to the Hospitality and Culinary Arts, allowing you to explore different career paths and discover your strengths before progressing onto a Level 2 qualification.

Course Details
The programme will help you to improve your Maths and English, develop technical skills, gain work experience and get involved in extra-curricular activities and tutorials. It has been designed to help you develop professionally and supports your progression. Alongside subject specific knowledge you'll have the opportunity to improve your Maths, English and Digital skills — essential for helping you get a job in the future.
These programmes are all about supporting your journey. You'll develop your study and communication skills, learn to manage your time effectively and conquer every challenge with confidence. The subject specific knowledge you will cover includes:- Maintenance of a safe and hygienic working environment
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Maintaining food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food
- Preparing and cooking meat, fish and poultry
- Preparing and cooking vegetables
- Preparing and cooking pasta, rice, eggs and pulses
- Cooking and finishing simple bread and dough products

- There are no formal entry qualifications required to study at this level.
- Basic levels of literacy and numeracy are expected.

Where can I progress to?
This course offers pathways to further study in Level 2 Hospitality and Culinary Arts courses. It will also provide you with skills which can be used in full-time employment or an apprenticeship.
