The aim of this qualification is to prepare students to work with children aged between birth and five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years in order to progress onto the T Level in Education and Early Years.

Course Details
NCFE CACHE Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry for the Early Years Practitioner (Diploma) has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school and nursery environments.
It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people's development, supporting children and young people's positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships.
It's aimed at learners working in roles that support pupils' learning in primary, secondary or special schools, as well as colleges.

Entry Guidelines
- You will need 3 GCSE's at Grade 3 or above including maths and GCSE English Language at Grade 4 to study at this level.
- Entry requirements for Level 2 courses in some sectors may be more specific. If you're unsure whether you meet these requirements, don't worry — we can help you find a suitable course that aligns with your skills and experience.
- You will need a satisfactory DBS.

Where can I progress to?
The aim of this qualification is to prepare students to work with children between the ages 0 and 5 years old, with the option to progress onto the T Level in Education and Early Years.

Timetable
You'll be based at our modern Twelve Quays Campus, close to the waterfront, for four days each week—taking part in your Early Years and Education studies alongside your GCSE Maths and English Language lessons. You'll also spend one day a week in a work placement relevant to your course, gaining valuable real-world experience as you build the skills and knowledge for your future.
You will receive your individual timetable at the start of your course.

Assessment Methods
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods.
This will include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, assignments and tasks set by CACHE.
