Access to HE courses are designed for adults aged 19+ and prepare you to study on a degree and other Higher Education courses. They usually last for one year and you may be able to study on a full-time or part-time basis.
Wirral Met College offers a wide range of Higher Education courses in partnership with prestigious universities including the University of Chester, University of Central Lancashire, and University of Liverpool.
If you are not quite ready, or have not got the grades, to progress to Higher Education (HE) join an access or Pre-Access to HE course.

Wirral Met's Access to HE courses lead to a wide range of Degrees, including Health, Social Work, Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedics, Radiography, Medicine and Veterinary Science. You could also progress onto Degrees in Criminology, Science, Social Science, Education Studies, Primary Education, English and Maths.
Where are they now?
Carys studied the Access to HE- Midwifery and Professions Allied to Medicine course at Wirral Met College. Carys was working in an office and chose to study the course so she could progress on to study Midwifery at John Moores University. Once qualified, and after three years of practising as a Midwife, Carys would like to complete a Masters and become a specialist Midwife or an Advanced Midwife Practitioner.
