Are Maths and English qualifications free?
GCSEs and Functional Skills are free if you have not achieved a GCSE Grade C/4 or higher. If you have a GCSE Grade C/4 and want to improve your grade then fees may apply. Please contact us for more information.

Are ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses free?
Funding may be available to cover some or all of your fees. Please contact us for more information.

Which benefits may mean I am eligible for free courses?
As part of enrolment to the College you will be asked to provide evidence.
- Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Benefit
- Employment and Support Allowance (work related activity group)
- Universal Credit
- Income Support
- Working Tax Credit (if you earn less than £4,066 per annum)
- Released on Temporary Licence (ROTL)

What is a full Level 2 course?
You have a full Level 2 course if you have already successfully achieved any of the following:
- 5 GCSEs at grades A*- C or 9 - 4
- BTEC First Diploma
- NVQ Level 2
- GNVQ Intermediate
If you have other qualifications that you think may qualify we will check these at enrolment. -
What is full Level 3 course?
You have a first full Level 3 course if you have already successfully achieved any of the following:
- 2 A Levels at grade A*- E (9 - 2)
- BTEC National Diploma
- BTEC Extended Diploma
- BTEC National Certificate
- NVQ Level 3
- GNVQ Advanced
If you have other qualifications that you think may qualify we will check these at enrolment.
