Whether you’re a new or returning student, this page has all the key information you need for starting the new academic year at Wirral Met College. Find out when you should attend, what to bring, and when you’ll receive your timetable.
I am a new student aged 16–18 (or 16–24 with an EHCP)
New students will take part in Transition Week, starting week commencing 1st September.
You do not need to attend every day — at enrolment you were given a card with the date, time and campus of your first session.
Level 1 First Year Students – attend Monday & Tuesday
Level 2 & 3 First Year Students – attend Thursday & Friday
You will receive your full timetable during Transition Week. Teaching will begin the following week (w/c 8th September).
You’ll also be given your student ID badge on your first day.
I am a returning student
All returning students start back week commencing 8th September.
You should have received your timetable by email.
If not, please check Pro-Portal.
Bring your student ID card from last year - you will be issued with a new lanyard on your first day back.
I am an adult student
You will have received your timetable at enrolment.
Please attend your first timetabled class unless you have been given different instructions.
I am a Higher Education student
New and returning HE students will be invited to attend enrolment on 15th or 16th September.
You will be given your timetable at enrolment.
Teaching for HE courses begins towards the end of September.
