As the academic year drew to a close we celebrated the achievements of our Further and Higher Education students.

Our Award Ceremonies are the highlight of the academic year as staff, parents, family and friends gathered together at the Floral Pavilion Theatre to celebrate the achievements of our students and apprentices from across the College.

Rob Ellis thanked Wirral Met College for nominating him for Student of the Year in Business as he celebrated his success at the Further Education awards.

Our Higher Education Awards Ceremony was a more formal occasion, as Higher Education students from Wirral Met College joined staff, family and friends to recognise and celebrate their achievements at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton. Guest speaker and accomplished international artist Christian Furr attended the event. Christian studied a Foundation course in Art and Design at Wirral Met, watch his Alumni video here. Christian was joined by a number of high profile guests including Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, Dame Lorna Muirhead DCVO DBE  and the High Sheriff of Merseyside, Stephen Burrows.

Student Jonny Benson said the deciding factor in where he’d study his degree when choosing in 2015 was influenced by a Wirral Met Alumni, Christian Furr. Jonny graduated with a 1st class honours degree in Fine Art and got to shake guest speaker Christian Furrs hand at the award ceremony.

Congratulations to all students and good luck for the future!!
