Christian Furr: A Retrospective | Alumni Art Exhibition
Wirral Met College alumni, Christian Furr, returns to the borough this autumn for a retrospective exhibition of his artwork, shown together for the first time in one exhibition at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum.
Aged 28, Furr became the youngest artist ever to paint HM Queen Elizabeth II, with successcive works having decorated the walls of the Saatchi Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Vatican's private collection. Furr's homecoming exhibtion showcases figurative tradition from his early years paired with recent collaborations with other artists, and will include a new self-portrait.
Opening on Saturday the 28th of September, Furr's exhibition will be free to view at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum (open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am - 5pm) until Sunday the 24th of November.
