This course is for those students who wish to progress to Higher Education.

Course details

You will need to achieve 60 credits to gain a Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in Psychology. You will study a total of 20 units all worth 3 credits each. You can gain a Pass, Merit or Distinction for each unit. Some Higher Education courses ask for a certain number of Merits or Distinctions to gain a place on their courses.

Entry guidelines

4 GCSEs including English and Mathematics at Grade C or above (4 and above under new GCSE tariff). You will have an interview where you should demonstrate your understanding of the Higher Education programme you are interested in progressing to. You will also complete a written task to evidence a good standard of English language. If you wish to pursue a career in Social Work you will also need current and relevant experience of working/volunteering in a social care setting.

Assessment Method

You will be assessed through assignments set such as essays, academic posters, reports, research tasks, timed assessments and presentations.

Additional Information

You will be required to complete a written task and which you will bring with you to interview. Evidence must be presented of qualifications.

Social Work Degree, Sociology, Criminology, Social Policy as well as many more degree programmes related to the subject area.
