BA (Hons) Early Years
This 3 year degree programme, validated by the University of Chester, is focused on the methods, techniques and academic understanding of early childhood care to enable graduates to apply their acquired skills to the profession.
You will be taught core areas of understanding such as child development, the family and community, legislation and professional practice and developing research and pedagogy.
BA (Hons) Fine Art
This is a broad-based fine art course which will enable you to develop your practical and intellectual skills. The course includes the history and theory of modern and contemporary art.
Your project work will take place in studios, workshops and through a programme of lectures, seminars and one to one tutorials. Critical, historical and theoretical studies permeate the course and written work is presented in the form of a journal.
Foundation Degree in Chemistry
This course, available to study part-time or full-time, is awarded by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and covers topics typically included in the first 2 years of a modern chemistry BSc including inorganic, organic, physical, analytical and green chemistry.
Students will gain significant knowledge and understanding of chemical processes and laboratory techniques used in the chemical industry.
PGCE - Education & Training
The Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), awarded by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), is primarily for those who want to teach in Further Education and sixth form. The aim of the course is to prepare trainees to teach in a range of contexts in the Further Education and Skills sector.
Trainees are expected to attend a placement that includes at least 150 teaching hours as well as other department duties.
Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Construction
The Level 4 BTEC Higher National Certificate in Construction is a part-time course, which offers students a broad introduction to the subject area.
Students will gain a wide range of sector knowledge tied to practical skills gained in research, self-study, directed study and workplace scenarios.
Higher National Diploma (HND) in Creative Media
This course provides a thorough grounding in the theoretical, business, and practical skills required in the field of Creative Media Industry. You will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required for a successful career in the creative media industry.
You will gain invaluable practical skills in a variety of film and sound related disciplines, including learning about camera work and editing and capturing professional quality audio.
Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemistry
This level 5 course is suitable for employees from science based industries and for those who wish to upgrade their HNC to HND and require flexible study. Those who undertook a 2 year HNC may do this course to top up to HND in 1 year.
The course is designed to increase knowledge and skills in the subject of chemistry. This qualification enhances job opportunities in laboratory work and a range of related careers.
