The Entry 3/Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children and Young People's Settings aims to develop your knowledge and awareness of health, social care and children's and young people's settings. Developing an understanding of the similarities and differences between them.
The Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Settings aims to develop learners' knowledge and awareness of health, social care and children's and young people's settings. It is aimed at learners in college who wish to develop an understanding of the similarities and differences between these settings. This qualification provides pathways into the sector for school leavers or anyone considering a career in health and/or social care. It will not confirm competence in a job role but will provide an opportunity for learners to develop knowledge about the wider health and social care sector before they decide whether working in the sector is for them and gain information to make decisions about career progression.
All units will be assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts, diagrams or setting up an information board.

Are you aged 16-18?
Study programmes are full-time courses for 16-18 year olds which include:
- A qualification such as BTEC Extended Diploma
- Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
- English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A* - C (grade 4 or above) in English and maths
- Non-study activities such as tutorials, voluntary work, fund-raising/charity work, sport or trips
The Level 1 Certificate allows progression to the Level 2 Health and Social Care Diploma or Health and Social Care preparing to Work, Childhood Studies qualifications at Level 2 or alternatively provide a valuable learning opportunity to prepare you for an apprenticeship in a related area.

If you are aged 16-18:
This study programme will be FREE for most students who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, or students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
If you are aged 19 or over:
Fee : £550.00
