These apprenticeships are ideal for those wishing to gain new skills in the healthcare profession. Learners cover areas ranging from promoting communication in health and implementing duty of care to more specialist skills such as administering medication to individuals and monitoring the effects.
The component qualifications required for an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care - Health Sector (England) are as follows:
- Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (QCF)
- Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health and Social Care
- Functional skills Maths and English Level 1
Apprentices must be in paid employment of at least 30 hours per week. Apprenticeships where the Apprentice is working and studying for less than 30 hours per week are by exception only. In any circumstances the Apprentice must not work for less than 16 hours per week.
