This qualification will introduce you to the skills that are required to plan, organise and evaluate events. It is designed to inspire and enthuse learners who are looking to develop skills in marketing and promotion, staffing at events, customer service and other transferable skills.
To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Award in Event Planning, you will be required to successfully complete the following 5 units:
- Planning an Event
- Event Review and Evaluation
- Market Research and Marketing Methods in Event Planning
- Human Resource Planning at Events
- Communication and Customer Service at Events
Relevant Level 1 qualification or minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 3/D or above.
Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and/or satisfactory reference.

To learn effectively on this course you will need to use certain items of equipment and undertake particular enrichment activities. To further enhance your learning experience the following will be required: Uniform £40 Educational Visits £125. Internally assessed coursework and students will be required to build a portfolio of evidence. This will include planning and evaluating an event.
This course will include days out throughout the year and visits from guest speakers and industry experts.
Are you aged 16-18?
Study programmes are full-time courses for 16-18 year olds which include:
- A qualification such as BTEC Extended Diploma
- Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
- English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A*-C in English and maths (grade 4 and above)
- Non-study activities such as tutorials, voluntary work, fund-raising/charity work, sport or trips.
This qualification can lead to progression on to the Level 2 Airline Cabin Crew study programme, the Diploma in Travel, Tourism and Airline Operations or the NCFE Travel and Tourism Extended Diploma.
