This course provides skills and experience for those wanting to assist in the leading and training of expedition groups under the direct supervision of a qualified Expedition Leader.

Course Details

The course involves the development of a number of skills including:

  • Group management
  • Navigation
  • Camp Craft
  • Planning and preparation
Entry Guidelines

Relevant Entry Level qualification or 3GCSEs at Grade 2/E or above.

You will need the ability to carry out physically demanding practical work in a variety of weather conditions.

Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and/or satisfactory reference.

Equipment Required

Equipment that will be required includes:

  • Waterproof clothing
  • Rucksack (30-40ltr)
  • Walking boots or sturdy trail shoes
  • Further detail will be given during your interview.

    Assessment Method

    Portfolio and practical assessment.
