Course Details

The qualification is intended to be accessible to a wide range of learners of all abilities. Learners can develop a more 'hands on' approach to their learning and gain practical skills, knowledge and understanding in their chosen vocational area.

The qualification is intended to give learners a solid base from which to further develop their skills and learning.

The following Units are covered:

  • Unit 69 — Working as a volunteer (A/505/3928)
  • Unit 70 — Working in a team — (F/505/3932)
  • Unit 71 — Problem solving skills for work (H/505/3924)

(Learners would be expected to keep a work portfolio/diary as well)

Entry Guidelines

No formal qualifications are required.

Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and/or satisfactory reference.

Practical, worksheets and trips.

Additional Information

The course will offer taster sessions in various vocational areas such as construction, catering, hair and beauty, travel and tourism, music and sport (where available).

This study programme is free for students, who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, and students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
