A modular Level 4 course in Applied Chemistry, with a minimum of 120 credits, this course is suitable for employees from science based industries and for those who wish to improve their science qualifications but are unable to study full time.
This Applied Chemistry course is taught at our multi-million pound Twelve Quays campus in Birkenhead.
Students must undertake a total of eight units to achieve a HNC in Applied Chemistry, consisting of six mandatory core units and two optional units. A list of these can be found below:

You need 2 A Levels (or equivalent) to study this course, one of which must be chemistry.
BTEC Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Applied Science, BTEC National Certificate/National Diploma in Applied Science or Access to Higher Education (Science-based) are appropriate equivalents.
Level 2 English and Level 2 maths are essential.
For each unit, students are assessed through coursework and practical assignments. This course is assessed by assignments which contribute to a pass, merit or distinction grade for each unit. This qualification will have an overall grade of pass, merit or distinction.
For timetabled sessions, students will be based at the College's Twelve Quays Campus.
