This course is designed to point you in the right direction to achieve quality employment in the Police, Fire Service, Border Force, Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force or Royal Marines. You will improve your teamwork, developing confidence and people skills and also improve your fitness to a standard that will help make you eligible for entry to the Uniformed Services. You will improve your written and verbal communication skills which will help you meet the strict criteria for entry.
You will be expected to wear a uniform throughout the course and will be expected to maintain it to a high standard. You will also be expected to demonstrate high standards of attendance and punctuality. You will be expected to take up the opportunity to undertake work experience and/or residential experiences (up to 5 days) . You will be tutored by ex-uniformed service personnel who have a wide range of experience, and who will expect a lot of you.
Priority will be given to those aged 16-18 years old who have a keen interest in joining one of the armed services.
Relevant Level 1 qualification or minimum 3 GCSEs at grade 3/D or above.
Satisfactory interview, assessment and school report or reference.

To learn effectively on your course you will need to use certain items of equipment and undertake particular activities as part of your studies. - A qualification such as BTEC Extended Diploma
- Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
- English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A* - C (grade 4 or above) in English and maths
- Non-study activities such as tutorials, voluntary work, fund-raising/charity work, sport or trips

This study programme is free for students, who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, and students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
