The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills in providing and maintaining nail enhancements using acrylic nail systems.

Course Details

The course will provide you with the skills to apply, maintain and remove nail enhancements. The course also includes health and safety, client care and hygiene practice for nail technicians. Please note that it is mandatory to complete awarding body COVID19 qualifications whilst studying a VTCT course. The exam registration fee is approximately £20.

Entry Guidelines

There are no formal qualification for this course but you will:

  • Need the skills for fine work e.g. holding a nail polish brush
  • Must be prepared to give and receive treatments to/from other students on your course
  • Need an ability to communicate one to one e.g. tutor or client and in a group as part of discussions
  • A satisfactory interview, assessment and reference

Equipment Required

You will need to wear a uniform, tunic and trousers cost £45. You must wear all black closed in shoes. You will need to purchase a kit costing approximately £134 to enable you to practice your skills at home. This will be discussed at interview.

Assessment Method

You will be assessed via observed work, witness statements, written and oral questions, external award body paper. You will need to provide your own models for assessment.
