This qualification is intended for candidates who have already acquired a recognised qualification in counselling skills and want to:
The course includes the following:
- Preparing to work within an ethical framework.
- Understanding the counselling relationship.
- Understand different and diversity issues.
- Work within a user centred approach to counselling.
- Use counselling theory to develop self-awareness in counselling practice.
- Understand theories of counselling and mental health.
- Use feedback, reflection and supervision to support counselling studies.
Minimum of 4 GCSE's A*- C (grade 4 or above).
Specific requirements - CSK L2
Certificate in Counselling Skills or equivalent.
2021 Entry - In the absence of a face to face interview. You will need to complete a timed written task, have a positive reference from your tutor, you will also be scored on meeting submission dates at level 2.
85% attendance is required but 100% is expected due to the experiential nature of the course. Please be aware that if your long term goal is to work with vulnerable adults or any person under the age of 18, it will be necessary to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at any required college work placement, or eventual place of work.
Allows progression onto the CPCAB qualification: Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling TC - L4
