The Level 2 Award in Music aims to provide you with the foundation knowledge and skills needed to operate successfully as a performing musician, producer or composer.

Course Details

While studying this short course you will learn about effective rehearsal and practise routines, performance skills, audience engagement, music event production and more. Learners complete a single industry-focused project aimed at developing their music performance knowledge and skills. As a music student, you will also have access to a range of facilities including a recording studio, rehearsal studios, a music production suite, campus library, canteen and more. Upon completion of this course learners can progress to our UAL Level 2 Diploma in Music (P010).

Entry Guidelines

Relevant Level 1 qualification or minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 3/D or above.

Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and/or satisfactory reference.

Are you aged 16-18?

Study programmes are full-time courses for 16-18 year olds which include:

  • A qualification such as BTEC Extended Diploma
  • Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
  • English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A*-C in English and maths (grade 4 and above)
  • Non-study activities such as tutorials, voluntary work, fund-raising/charity work, sport or trips.
