This course is designed to provide practising or aspiring team leaders with the foundation for their formal development within this role. It provides both knowledge and team leading skills.

Course Details

The course has two primary objectives - to assist participants in gaining the basic knowledge required by a team leader and to develop basic team leading skills. The course is highly practical and covers the following:

  • Developing yourself as a Team Leader
  • Improving performance of the work team
  • Planning & Maintaining the work team
Entry Guidelines

Communication Skills - Ability to communicate fluently (verbally and in text). Ability to work as part of a team.

Literacy - A good understanding of the written word and an ability to analyse information.

Numeracy - Ability to cope with numerical concepts.

Action Planning - Ability to self organise and prioritise.

Information Technology - No prior knowledge required. Support will be given.

Assessment Method

Assessment comprises of completion of three reflective reviews - one for each unit.

Progression to a wide range of management and business courses such as: BTEC Certificate in Management (Supervision & Leadership), Level 3 S/NVQ in Management (depending on your workplace circumstances) or another qualification at a suitable level within the National Qualifications Framework.

If you are aged 19 or over:

Fee : £275.00

This course is FREE if you are aged 19+, unemployed/in receipt of eligible benefits or in work earning less than £17,550 annual gross salary, and you do not have a level 3 qualification.

The fee quoted is for the academic year 2019-20.
