The Advanced Diploma in Accounting is the second stage of the full AAT qualification. It is a professional course which will give you the skills to excel at a wide range of accounting and finance jobs.
On the Advanced Diploma you are introduced to more advanced bookkeeping and final accounts preparation. You will also learn:
- Costing aspects of management accounting
- Professional ethics for accountants
- How to prepare VAT returns
- How to use financial spreadsheets
A mandatory requirement is to have achieved a Level 2 Foundation Certificate.

For 2020/21 this course will be delivered via a blended learning approach, which will consist of a mixture of both classroom based learning and remote/on-line learning.
Please note, it is expected that a number of hours for self-study will be required.
A requirement of this course is membership with the AAT (The Association of Accounting Technicians).
- Admin Fee £41 (one off payment).
- Membership Fee £90 - to be paid yearly.
Please be aware that criminal offences, bankruptcy and IVAs will affect your application for membership with the AAT. See course leader for further details.
Text books for this course are to be purchased, they are not included in the course fees.
Initial unit exams are included in the course fees. Exam resits are an extra cost.
