The Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is the second stage of the full AAT qualification. It is a professional course which will give you the skills to excel at a wide range of accounting and finance jobs.
On the level 3 diploma you are introduced to more advanced bookkeeping and final accounts preparation techniques. You will also learn aspects of management accounting, such as costing and spreadsheets and be introduced to tax processes for businesses.
The qualification is approximately equivalent to A level.
Students will take exams in the following subjects:
• Business
Awareness
• Financial Management: Preparing Financial Statements
•
Management Accounting Techniques
• Tax Processes for Businesses
These are under the new AAT Q2022 qualification, which is available from
1st September 2022.
Students will also undertake a number of tutorial and
enrichment activities throughout the programme, designed to maximise their
employability.
To learn effectively on your course you will need to use certain items of equipment and undertake particular activities as part of your studies. Students will need to provide their own calculator. Appropriate office/business clothing to be worn. Guidance can be given if requested.
All units are assessed with computer-based assessments marked externally.

- A qualification such as BTEC Extended Diploma
- Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
- English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A* - C in English and maths
- Non-study activities such as tutorials, voluntary work, fund-raising/charity work, sport or trips

This study programme is free for students, who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, and students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
If you are aged 19 or over:
If you are aged 19+ and living in the Liverpool City Region (inc Wirral), many courses will be free. If you are aged 19+ and live outside the Liverpool City Region, this course may be free. Terms & conditions apply.
If you are aged 19+, you may be able to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan (which is available for this course).
