This course is for those students who wish to progress to Higher Education. You will study Psychology as a core subject but have the option to chose between Law or Education as an additional subject. The course is very intensive and demanding, therefore, we expect 100% attendance. You will be allocated a Academic Advisor who will support you through your studies.
You will need to achieve 60 credits to gain a Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in Psychology. You will study a total of 20 units all worth 3 credits each. You can gain a Pass, Merit or Distinction for each unit. Some Higher Education courses ask for a certain number of Merits or Distinctions to gain a place on their courses.
4 GCSEs including English and Mathematics at Grade C or above (4 and above under new GCSE tariff).
You will have an interview where you should demonstrate your understanding of the Higher Education programme you are interested in progressing to.
You will also complete a written task to evidence a good standard of English language.

You will be assessed through assignments set such as essays, academic posters, reports, research tasks, timed assessments and presentations.
You will be required to complete a written task and which you will bring with you to interview. Evidence must be presented of qualifications.
You can progress to a 3 year degree in Psychology as well as other subjects, such as, Social Work, Health Promotion, Law or Education for example. The College offers a pathway to the University of Liverpool called BSc (Hons) Psychology where you can study 2 years with the college and your final two years with the University. If you are aged 16-18:
This study programme will be FREE for most students who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, or students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
If you are aged 19 or over:
Fee : £3384.00
If you are aged 19+, you may be able to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan (which is available for this course).
Depending on your personal circumstances, this course could be FREE for you if you are aged 19-23 and you do not already have a level 3 qualification.
The fee quoted is for the academic year 2019-20.
