Wirral Met College is proud to announce that it is working in partnership with Swissport International, the world’s leading global airport and aviation service provider, to provide unique opportunities for students to gain high quality work experience and specialist industry sector expertise.
Wirral Met has been granted Swissport Academy status and is the only college in the Northwest of England to be granted with this prestigious status. Swissport is a multinational organisation, spanning from America to Africa and Northern Europe and is the world’s leading Service Company to airlines and airports. With the new Swissport Academy, travel and tourism students from Wirral Met will be able to take advantage of excellent work experience opportunities, working alongside professionals across this exciting and dynamic industry.
Students studying on levels 2 and 3 study programmes will take part in behind-the-scenes tours at UK and overseas airports, where they will gain a practical insight into the multitude of careers within the aviation industry. In addition to discussions with guest speakers from Swissport who will visit the college on a regular basis, the students will have access to a wide range of expertise to equip them to progress into jobs in travel and tourism. One of the key highlights of the partnership is that Wirral Met students will be provided with a guaranteed job interview with Swissport once they have successfully completed their study programme (subject to eligibility and a college recommendation).
