Traineeships are designed to help young people gain the necessary work skills and experience to progress to an apprenticeship or job. They are a partnership between the employer and the college and involve high quality work experience, a period of work preparation training (developing interpersonal skills, CVs, job search and interview skills), and English and maths.

You will be eligible if you:

  • want to get a job (and are not currently in a job) and have limited work experience
  • are aged 16-24 and qualified below level 3
  • your college and employer/placement provider believe you have a reasonable chance of being ready for employment or an apprenticeship within six months of starting your traineeship.

From Business Admin to Retail and many other sectors a Pre-Apprenticeship is a 13 week FREE training programme which will give you the tools to help you progress into employment. We will help you with interview techniques, make your CV sparkle and help you to realise the skills you already have and how you can use them to impress an employer. You will also have the opportunity to have an 8 week work placement with an employer who is looking to recruit. Those 8 weeks are your chance to show an employer what you can do.
