An essential food hygiene qualification required for all people who are handling food i.e. food retailers, manufacturers, staff in hotels and restaurants.

This Apprenticeship covers all the basics of Hospitality. As a Hospitality apprentice, you could work in housekeeping, front of house reception, as waiters/silver service waiters, or as a bar person. Duties are likely to include serving customers, preparing and cooking food, serving drinks, reception, cleaning and preparing rooms. You'll study topics such as maintaining food safety when storing food, and working as part of a team. On this Apprenticeship you'll spend a lot of time on your feet. It's also important that you look smart and professional. Good communication plays a role, too - you'll need to understand exactly what your customer wants in order to make them happy.

The qualification aims to introduce the candidate to the basic principles, skills and techniques required by pastry cooks and patissiers. It also provides the candidate with the working knowledge and skills required to produce basic items and dishes relevant to the pastry section of a commercial kitchen.

The culinary skills diploma is for anyone who wants to work as a chef or manager in the Hospitality & Catering industry. It is ideal for learners coming straight from school who wish to seek a career in this exciting industry.

This course provides you with an opportunity for progression from Level 1. Level 2 focuses on the preparation and cooking of the different food groups as identified in the profile below.
