This course is the flagship NEBOSH qualification and is the first UK vocational qualification to be developed specifically for aspiring health and safety professionals, building directly upon the foundation of knowledge provided by the NEBOSH National General Certificate and providing a sound basis for progression to postgraduate study.

Course details

Unit DNI (Application of health and safety management in the workplace) comprises a written assignment of approximately 10,000 words.The focus of this unit should be the application of the knowledge and understanding developed in Units A, B and C to a real workplace situation. The aim of the assignment is for students to carry out a review of the arrangements for managing health and safety in a workplace and to produce justified, proportionate recommendations to improve health and safety performance. The assignment should include: ? An introduction that sets the scene ? Aims and objectives ? A description of the methodology used to carry out the assignment ? A description of the workplace ? A description of role of the health and safety practitioner ? A critical analysis of how health and safety is currently managed by the organisation based on reviews of leadership, management, worker involvement, competence, legal compliance and risk profile ? An evaluation of where improvements should be made ? Conclusions which summarise the main issues identified ? Justified, proportionate, recommendations based on the findings ? An executive summary
