This is a very practical course where you will learn the application of artificial nails. You will be using acrylic applications and will be given information on other systems available. You will also study Health & safety and Manicure.

Course details

You will be practically assessed and be expected to work on clients allowing you to build a commercial time for treatments. You will need to provide your own models.

Entry guidelines
  • Relevant level 1 qualification or minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 3/D or above.
  • Satisfactory interview, assessment and reference.

Equipment Required

You will need to provide your own equipment/kit (approximate cost £120) & uniform (approximatley £40).

Assessment Method

Assessments continue throughout the course both in practical and theory sessions. In addition there are VTCT online exams.

Additional Information

You will be expected to work towards a VTCT Health & Safety Diploma if you have not already achieved this qualification. This will have an additional cost of approximately £15.

  • An ability to communicate one to one e.g. tutor or client and in a group as part of discussions.
  • Reading - Much of the course material is presented in work books. You need an ability to read and understand these books. Technical language will be taught on this course.
  • Reading & writing - You need to produce written assignments and sit exams. You will complete a written assessment at the interview.
  • Whilst high levels of numeracy are not required, you will need to measure products and work within specific timings.
  • Where can I progress to?
