The course will develop your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English.
The course starts in September but you can join at a number of points throughout the year. You will have access to the College computer network and your own e-mail account. The staff are highly experienced and caring and the College offers an excellent tutorial system so there are always people willing and ready to give practical help and advice. You will sit an Ascentis Skills for Life (ESOL) exam at the end of the academic year. Regular written reports are available for those who require them for their employers or sponsors. The ESOL department organises a varied social programme which you can take part in. It includes visits to the theatre, museums and excursions to places of local and national interest.
An initial interview and assessment will ensure you are put in a class at the right level. Your tutor will work with you to identify your particular learning and support needs. Your fee status will be assessed prior to your initial interview. Where applicable, a deposit is required prior to your English assessment.
If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course. To discuss further, please contact the ESOL department on 0151 551 7144.
Assessment is by exam.
Contact ESOL unit (0151 551 7144) or Student Advisers (0151 551 7010) for further information and to arrange a pre-enrolment assessment.
