This is a FREE course. You will be in a small, friendly group. There will be a choice of what you learn and the speed at which you work. You will take part in various individual, paired and whole group activities that will help increase your confidence and develop your maths skills. You will have your own plan of work which you will negotiate with your tutor.
The course will cover; mental calculations and estimating the cost of items, use of fractions, decimals, percentages and the metric system, finding and using information in lists, tables, and charts, recognising and using 2-D shapes and finding the mean, range, median and mode and using them to compare sets of data.
To join the course you first need to complete an assessment to determine the correct starting level for you.

You will work towards a City & Guilds Functional Skills qualification or a College Certificate
You also need to be able to:
- arrive on time
- attend every week
- work with others
- complete homework and bring it to the next session
You may be able to progress on to a GCSE course or a wide range of other academic and vocational courses that require mathematical skills.
