This FREE course aims to develop your spelling, grammar and punctuation as well as your ability to read and respond to a range of written materials.
This course will help you to gain a good grasp of spelling, punctuation and grammar skills which will improve your writing; be confident in reading and responding to a range of materials; develop speaking and listening skills and obtain a national qualification. You will take part in individual, paired and whole group activities and discuss a variety of reading materials. You will have your own plan of work which you will negotiate with your tutor.
To join and be successful on this course you will need to have completed the assessment process. You also need to be able to:
- arrive on time
- attend every week
- work with others
- complete homework and bring it to the next session

You will work towards a City & Guilds qualification or a College Certificate
Are you aged 16-18?
Study programmes are full-time courses for 16-18 year olds which include:
- A qualification such as BTEC Extended Diploma
- Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
- English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A* - C in English and maths
- Non-study activities such as tutorials, voluntary work, fund-raising/charity work, sport or trips
