Offers hands on experience across a range of construction skills with some basic underpinning knowledge which prepares all students for progression onto Level 1 programmes.

Course details

Construction skills, Health and Safety, interview preparation and team work.

Entry guidelines

This is a Study Programme and priority will be given to those aged 16-18 years of age.

No formal qualifications are required.

Satisfactory interview, assessment, school report and/or satisfactory reference.

If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course. To discuss further, please contact the ESOL department on 0151 551 7144.

Equipment Required

Steel toe capped boots.

Assessment Method

Observation of practical tasks, written knowledge tests.

Additional Information

PPE must be warn at all times in the college and all students must arrive at sessions prepared and ready to learn with pens, paper etc.

Where can I progress to?

Level 1 course across a rage of different trades depending of maths and English qualifications.

    If you are aged 16-18:

    This study programme will be FREE for most students who are aged 16-18 on 31 August, or students aged 19-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
