Where can I progress to?

Employment as a higher technician with a building contractor or in a number of construction related disciplines including architecture, quantity surveying, building surveying and construction management.

The HND (level 5) is the natural progression from the HNC (level 4) which can lead on to the new BTEC Level 6 qualifications (degree level) or can be an appropriate entry qualification to a number of construction related degree courses, some of which can be studied on a part-time basis, enabling you to continue with your employment whilst studying.

The HND usually exempts you from part of a degree programme at university. The amount of exemption will depend on the HND grade the degree studied and the institution offering the qualification.
