In addition to lesson time, you will be expected to complete at least 16 hours of independent study per week.

Course details

The course is designed for those students wishing to pursue a career within Art and Design. The art and design pathway is structured to provide you with the opportunity to produce a portfolio of your own work that will enable you to progress onto higher level courses.

The course is made up of units of learning and examples include the following:

Drawing for Art and Design

Figure Studies

Graphic Skills Development

Fine Arts Skills Development

Relief Printmaking

All of these units will include the analysis, evaluation and recording of information.

Throughout your course you will be supported in your studies by staff with practical and commercial skills in these areas and teaching will be flexible to enable you to achieve your goals.

Credits are awarded for the Access course modules and in total 60 credits are gained, 45 of which are graded.
